This evidence-based program brings youth ages 10-14 and their parents together in highly interactive, hands-on sessions that improve parenting skills, build life skills in youth, and strengthen family bonds. Seven weekly 2-hour sessions begin with a shared meal. Child care is provided for younger children. Parents and youth participate in positive, enjoyable, individual and shared activities. The program is facilitated by three certified facilitators. The Strengthening Families Program for Parents and Youth 10-14 is recognized as exemplary and evidence-based by a variety of agencies including the Center for Substance Abuse Prevention, National Institute on Drug Abuse, US Department of Education, and the Substance Abuse in Mental Health Services Administration.
