Education is a core value of Mental Health America in Sheboygan County. By providing education and prevention programming to people of all ages in our community, we share knowledge about the importance of mental health and the warning signs of mental illness at an early age B4Stage4. It is our hope that, with this knowledge, more people will know when to reach out for help for themselves or a loved one, reducing stigma and saving lives in our community.

UNDERSTANDING MENTAL ILLNESS

In order to improve the health and wellness of our organizations, communities, workplaces, families, and schools; a basic understanding of mental illness is needed for us all. Whether you are in a leadership position, an employee, or family member; educating oneself in the broad scope of mental health including mental illness as well as general wellness concepts leads to deeper empathy, human connection, and cooperation. If you are a person who suffers from mental illness, knowing you are not alone and that there is help out there can make an incredible difference in quality of life.

Please read and share these resources with your family, workplace, and community organizations to help us understand each other better, reduce the stigma of mental illness, and promote mental wellness for all.

In order to help our community understand the full spectrum of mental illness to wellness and its affects on the individual as well as our society, MHA in Sheboygan County offers in person and virtual trainings that are specific to the organization. See below for options.
