In Wisconsin, every County has a County Veterans Service Officer (CVSO), which is mandated by Chapter 45 of the Wisconsin Statutes and almost every CVSO has at least one staff member. CVSO’s and their staff are not VA employees, which means they advocate for our Veterans and their families. Their job is to educate Veterans and their dependents and survivors about Federal and state benefits and to assist them with applying for those benefits they are eligible for.
